The rains have well and truly broken, both here in Nairobi where we received 1 inch of rain last night, and in Tsavo electric thunderstorms for 360 degrees lit up the sky around the Trust's headquarters at Kaluku adjacent to the Park, with storms raging for over six hours throughout parts of Tsavo. This is always such a beautiful time of year, when the parched dry earth erupts into a profusion of every green imaginable, and animals, birds, beetles, butterflies, frogs and the plant kingdom celebrate the onset of the rains. This too will bring respite to our Tsavo orphans and their wild friends, as waterholes fill, food becomes abundant, and the heat finally subsides. We will look to share this beautiful time with our global audience through our social media channels and bring to you the wonders of Tsavo in the next weeks.
