At The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, we’ve been working to protect Kenya’s wildlife for nearly 40 years. We’ve witnessed some incredible conservation successes but for many species like elephants and rhinos, without action on a global scale, we could risk losing them in our lifetime. That’s why we are joining the World Wildlife Day campaign on Thursday 3rd March, and we’re urging you to join us too.
We’re asking all supporters of wildlife to take to social media and join us to raise awareness for elephants as ‘their future is in our hands’. By adding your voice, you’ll be standing hand in hand with The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and other conservation organisations to raise awareness around the globe that, as the earth’s caretakers, it is our responsibility to care for our wildlife.
Want to join us? Here’s how you can participate in the campaign:
Put pen to hand: Draw an elephant on your palm and post to social media with the hashtag: #InOurHands. Remember to tag @TheDavidSheldrickWildlifeTrust on Facebook and @DSWT on Instagram and Twitter so that we can see and share your picture.
Share our stories that you love: Whether from our website or social media pages, share with your own network our inspiring conservation stories, using #InOurHands in your posts.
Donate: Support the brave men working on the front line to keep Kenya’s wildlife safe through our nine DSWT/KWS Anti-Poaching Teams at: www.thedswt.org/donatenow
Foster an orphaned elephant: Help us give orphaned elephants a safe, and wild, future and receive monthly updates on your chosen infant by fostering at: www.thedswt.org/foster
Together, we can turn the tide for elephants and make 2016 the year we ensure a future for elephants.
