In honour of the festive season, we are delighted to share this special Christmas Eve mini live from the Nairobi Nursery, filmed as the orphans headed home for the night.
We didn’t want to disrupt bedtime too much, so we just say goodnight to some of the youngest orphans, plus our Nursery mainstay, Maxwell the black rhino. Speedy Mokogodo finished her milk bottle before we got to her stable, but we arrived just in time to see Keeper Misheck tucking her into her cherry red blanket.
Because of your goodwill and generosity, all these orphans have been given the second chance they deserve. When grown, we will help them reclaim their place in a protected wilderness. Until then, they have a family and a home with us. (Nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar-plums dance in their heads!)
Asanta sana — thank you very much — and happy holidays, from all of us at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
