ELEPHANT DIARIES UPDATE BBC ONE on Wednesday 25 th January at 19.00 (7.00 pm). For a baby elephant, family life is everything and losing your mother is the worst possible start in life. Through unprecedented access to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s Orphans’ Project in Kenya, the BBC have filmed an in depth series presented by Jonathan Scott and Michaela Strachan, and have been able to capture on film the dramatic rescues and reintroduction of fragile young elephant orphans into the wild.
The series, which will be shown around the world, was first seen in the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East on BBC One on the 4th July - 8th July 2005. An Update on Elephant Diaries will be transmitted on Wednesday 25 January at 7.00pm on BBC ONE 2006.
The series will be shown on Animal Planet in the United Sates on the 5th March 2006 running as a 90 minute program.
2005 TV Moments Award The award show was screened on New Year's Eve and 'Elephant Diaries' (A segment of the orphans playing footbal) was up against England winning the Ashes against Australia for the first time in 18 years, the Live 8 Concert and "Extras" with Ricky Gervais for the Best TV moment of July and August 2005.
