Thanks to a generous grant from the US Friends of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust we were able to donate two new customized land cruisers to the Kenya Wildlife Service today to further help with their field efforts during this challenging time. The two vehicles were presented by Angela Sheldrick and Robert Carr-Hartley of DSWT and gratefully received by KWS Director William Kiprono. One is a rapid response vehicle for security purposes within the Tsavo Conservation area and the second for the KWS Veterinary Unit enabling them to better respond to field cases throughout the country. Both vehicles have been extensively customized to suit their roles.
