The prevailing hot and dry conditions in Tsavo East National Park continued into the month of October.
During the month, the SWT/KWS Tsavo East Veterinary Team attended to an elephant bull with a spear wound in Amboseli, collared an adult lion in Kipini Conservancy, did an autopsy examination of a lion in Kambanga Ranch, as well as elephant and rhino carcasses in Tsavo East. The team was also involved in the rescue of an elephant calf stuck in mud at the Aruba waterhole. Other activities included a wildlife translocation and treatment of elephants in Umani, Chyulu and Rukinga ranch.
