The Tsavo Mobile Veterinary Unit attended to 12 cases in September 2024. These comprised 7 elephant cases, 3 lion cases, 1 Masai giraffe case, and 1 common zebra case.
Very little rain fell in Tsavo at the beginning of September, and only a few water pans remained full towards the end of the month. Vegetation is also rapidly drying out. Thankfully, most animals are still in good body condition.
