During September, many parts of Lake Naivasha and the Central Rift Conservation Area received sporadic showers. The region is generally experiencing a dry spell, with pasture and browse availability decreasing.
The Rift Valley Mobile Veterinary Unit visited WRTI Game farm, Marula Estates, Olerai/Sirocco farm, Hell’s Gate NP, Mt Elgon NP, Loldia farm, Manera farm, Gilgil – Nagum area, Hippo Point among other areas. The Unit continued with general clinical case work and routine security patrols. The majority of cases involved animals snared for bushmeat as well as 3 for human-wildlife conflict, 1 post-mortem and 7 for natural causes.
