During the month of June 2021, the SWT/KWS Mount Kenya Mobile Veterinary Unit attended to an array of wildlife cases that required urgent veterinary intervention in the Laikipia ecosystem and Mt. Kenya region.
Cases attended to included the treatment of three white rhinos: an adult male at Solio Wildlife Conservancy, a sub-adult male at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, and an adult female ehite rhino at Ol Jogi Conservancy. A sub-adult male elephant was treated on Loisaba Wildlife Conservancy and an adult female Rothschild giraffe was freed from a snare at Mwea National Park.
