June has been relatively dry, windy and cold. Within the Maasai Mara National Reserve substantial vegetation still flourishes, however, the neighbouring conservancies are not as lush as dry conditions set in. Human-wildlife conflict continues to be witnessed outside the Reserve as competition for resources increases.
During June 2022, the Unit attended to 11 cases, 7 of which were attributed to poaching/human involvement and another 2 directly due to human-wildlife conflict. All cases attended to were given a good-to-fair prognosis.
