The Ziwani Team operates in the southern sector of Tsavo West National Park, as well as the neighbouring Taita wildlife ranches.
These savannah plains are dotted with low hills and valleys and are home to a wide variety of wildlife and historic World War 1 battle sites. Illegal activities encountered here include snaring for the bushmeat trade, ivory poaching, livestock encroachment and cutting of trees for timber and to make charcoal. This report provides an overview of the activity of all our De-Snaring Teams in December 2020, with a more detailed description of the Ziwani Team's operational activities in the period.
