Findings

The Team patrolled its usual area of operation along the Mtito River and lifted 4 big snares and 37 small snares. The team then moved its patrols to Kilalinda area; the team lifted 35 snares in this area. We managed to rescue a snared Dikdik and released the Dikdik back into the wild.

During patrols the team noticed several cases of dead fish along the Athi River shores; there was also a notable change in colour of the water to a greener colour. We suspect this to be as a result of pollution upstream. We also found a crocodile carcass on the shores of Athi River, also probably a victim of the same pollution problem.
