During September 2019, the Amboseli Mobile Veterinary Unit (AMVU) attended to eight cases, involving a total of nine wild mammals that included 3 elephants, 2 zebras and 4 giraffes
An elephant was euthanized after the animal failed to stand and move following 2 days of intensive treatment and fluid therapy. Two elephants were examined for cause of death. Two giraffes were de-snared, and another two examined for the cause of death. One zebra was treated for lameness and a second one examined for cause of death.
