Findings

As in preceding months the team began its patrols on the Trust land where there has been an increase in the amount of wildlife being seen. No snares were lifted during our patrols in this area. We then moved to Sasoon Farm where we lifted 51 snares all of which targeted small game. We spoke to the farm’s manager informing him of what we had found. The manager said that he would look into the matter and find out who had set the snares.

Our patrols were then moved to the Mtito River, covering the area towards Ngiluni. In the area between the park and the community land we managed to lift 9 large snares and 31 small snares. Unfortunately we also came a across a dead snared lesser kudu.

We carried out a joint operation with the Ithumba team and together we patrolled Kilalinda where we came across a dead snared lesser kudu.

We were also able to lift a few snares.
