Stories from the Wild. Ele Calf Treatment in the Mara Triangle - 11/1/2010
On the morning of Saturday 23rd October 2010, just after conclusion of the Wildebeest collaring in the Amboseli and Nairobi National park dispersal areas, the Mara vet unit received a distress call from Mara Triangle management about an elephant calf that was spotted dragging a wire snare on its front left leg.

The rescue of Wasin - 10/23/2010
The 17th October, 2010 brought yet another Rescue alert, the third in just over a week, this time from Namunyak Conservancy in Northern Kenya, where a one week old elephant baby had been retrieved from a shallow well by Samburu elders of the area.

Hoshim’s Story - 10/22/2010
It was a step-back in time, to be driving again on Solio Ranch near Mweiga, gradually making our way to a special enclosure that had kept some of my first rhino orphans safe for the past 34 years – rhino orphans from our Tsavo days when my late husband, David, was Warden of Tsavo East National Park.

The rescue of Naisula - 10/21/2010
13th October 2010, the day that the 33 Chilean Miners were rescued from the bowels of the earth, beautiful little Naisula was also rescued, an orphan from the Archers’ Post Area close to Samburu National Reserve, an area where the Chinese road constructions works are based, and which has seen a great deal of Ivory Poaching of late.
