THE DE-SNARING PROJECT: CHUI TEAM MTITO

Area of Operation:
The Chui team is based near Mtito Ande, in Tsavo East National Park's triangle, operating along the railway lines, the main Nairobi - Mombasa road, which slices Tsavo East from West, and along the Athi River's Southern banks and the Mtito River. This team also covers areas of Tsavo West National Park.
Team Description:
The team leader for this unit is Stephen Liyai. The team members are Adan Abdi, Buru Okicha, Douglas Nyandika, and Vincent Mutua. They are accompanied by armed Kenya Wildlife Service Rangers while on patrol This team is funded by the Capricorn Foundation.
