Anti-Poaching Report: February 2025Despite favourable conditions in the field, February was busy for the SWT/KWS Anti-Poaching Teams. Over the course of the month, rangers collected 1,029 snares, made 48 arrests, confiscated 37 kg of elephant ivory, and assisted in four veterinary treatments.

Aerial Unit Report: January 2025The new year started on a busy note for our Aerial Unit. Along with their daily patrols and anti-poaching operations, the team supported several notable veterinary treatments, including the rescue of a trapped lion, human-elephant conflict mitigation, and the very unique translocation of a group of lemur stowaways. In January, the team flew 192 hours, covering 25,505 kilometres in flight.

Rift Valley Mobile Veterinary Report for February 2025The Unit attended to 4 snared animals (2 zebras and 2 giraffes), rescued and relocated a zebra that was trapped within a fenced area and conducted a post-mortem on a zebra foal with a heavy tick burden.
